Choosing the right custom patio screen
Patio screen, sun screen, solar screen, exterior shade, or sun blockers for patios: they're all names for a vertical screen that blocks direct sun without boxing you in. Ours is woven with a 5% openness, tight enough to block most of the UV and heat, yet open enough to keep your view, let the breeze through, and provide excellent daytime privacy from the neighbors. Mounted in front of a window, it stops a good share of the heat before it reaches the glass, taking some load off the air conditioning during a heat wave.
Every exterior solar screen is made to measure, from 4 to 16 feet wide, and installs on a wall or under a soffit. You choose the housing and mesh colour and how it runs: a hand crank, a motor with a remote, or a wireless solar panel.
